The Town Council at its latest meeting took up the four-year-old idea of creating a Mammoth Lakes Recreation entity, similar in structure to Mammoth Lakes Tourism, Mammoth Lakes Housing, and Eastern Sierra Transit—a non-governmental organization (NGO) that administers tourism-related spending on behalf of the town.
Bishop man fled scene of crime, arrested in Mammoth
Local law enforcement is hoping for some information about a suspected murder attempt near Bishop after the shooter fled the scene and was arrested at the Shady Rest RV Park in Mammoth Lakes last week.
According to Inyo County officials, on June 13, at about 10:30 p.m., sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the Wilkerson Ranch area south of Bishop for reports of shots fired.
