The Friday Night Lights were not so kind to the Mammoth Huskies Friday night in Bishop. It was more like Friday Night Lights OUT.

The final was 59-6, Broncos, but it wasn't really that close.

The visiting Huskies (2-2) were inundated by eight Broncos touchdowns and another Bishop field goal. In the second half, the Broncos (4-0) scored 35 points without their superb starting quarterback, Chance Callahan, who was injured late in the second quarter and sat out the second half.

The lone Husky touchdown, a 14-yard scamper to the right side by Oscar Hernandez, came so late in the game – there was just 3:31 to go – some of the Broncos fans who had not left for home gave Hernandez, and Mammoth, a sympathetic round of applause. (The Huskies' two-point conversion attempt failed.)

The late touchdown is not likely to assuage the Huskies' bloodied snouts, and no doubt they're left wondering what, if anything, they could take home in the positive column.

Hmm.

Well, OK, there was a bright side. The Huskies were able to get some heavy work in on their special teams. In all, they fielded 10 kickoffs, and it's a little bit of a wonder that punter Dillon Bertolina's leg didn't fall off. He punted eight times in the game, seven in the first half.

And that's about it. That's the way it looks when the Friday Night Lights go out.
