Note: A previous version of this story stated that law enforcement was searching for a vehicle that might have been associated with the robbery of the Union Bank in Mammoth on Aug. 2. As of Monday, Aug. 5, 10 a.m., Mammoth police said "the vehicle and its owner have been located and identified. The MLPD is no longer seeking assistance in locating this vehicle."

Mammoth police on Friday evening, Aug. 2, scrambled to find a man who robbed Union Bank earlier in the day.
The man, whose face was captured on surveillance cameras, at 2:45 p.m. entered the Union Bank in Mammoth Lakes, in the Vons parking lot on Old Mammoth Road at Meridian Blvd., with a small leather bag, a police spokesman said.
The suspect approached the teller and handed her a note.
The note, police said, was printed in English and Spanish and read, â€śROBBERY.â€ť
The teller then handed the suspect money. As the suspect walked towards the exit door, the teller activated the silent alarm.
Police Chief Dan Watson said officers arrived within three minutes and checked the area but were unable to locate the suspect. The bank is situated within two blocks of the police department.
A police department spokesperson said the suspect is male, white, between 55 and 60 years old, 5-feet, 9-inches tall, with a slender build and white hair covered with a light green baseball cap.
He was wearing checkered white, red, and green long-sleeve shirt. The suspect was clean shaven.
The suspect took about $1,400 from the bank.
