Hold onto yer hats! High wind warning for Mammoth, Mono

The National Weather Service in Reno has issued a High Wind
Warning for 4 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday.

From the horse's mouth:

* Timing: early Thursday morning through Thursday evening. Strongest winds expected Thursday afternoon.

* Winds: southwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 50 mph Thursday morning increasing to 25 to 40 mph with gusts up to 65 mph in the afternoon. Wind gusts up to 80 mph in wind prone
locations.

* Impacts: motorists in high profile vehicles can expect difficult driving conditions with strong cross winds especially along U.S. Hwy. 395 in Mono County and U.S. Hwy. 95 in Mineral County.

Travel restrictions or Road closures are possible for U.S. 95in Mineral County during the afternoon and evening.
