Marysheva-Martinez gets another year
The Town of Mammoth Lakes on Thursday said that Assistant Town Manager Marianna Marysheva-Martinez will be working with the Town for an additional year.
In making the announcement, Town Manager Dave Wilbrecht effectively took her out of the running for a similar job in Yakima, Wash., where she was one of four finalists.
The town made the announcement late on Thursday afternoon.
Marysheva-Martinez started working with the Town as the Interim Town Manager in March 2011, and, according to a news release issued by information officer Stuart Brown, “quickly demonstrated her abilities and capacities to work on a variety of difficult public issues.
“For the past six months, her primary focus has been on the Town’s financial issues, negotiating with Mammoth Lakes Land Acquisition and preparing for a mediation with various creditors, and providing leadership and support to the Town Council and Town Manager.
“As most people in town know,” Brown said in the press release “that the town is facing very difficult decisions that will have an impact on service delivery for the next several years.
“Building a solid foundation for decision making and service delivery is of high importance to the Town Council. Ms. Marysheva-Martinez’s major task will be to support the Council and Community in this important work.
Brown said that residents can receive additional information and if there are have any questions, to contact the Town Manager’s Office at 760-934-8989, extension 223.
