Editor’s note: The following is a letter that was originally sent by part time June Lake resident Michael Bogash to Rusty Gregory via snail mail several weeks ago, via certified mail, according to Bogash. On Thursday, Bogash said he sent the letter to Gregory’s office via email. This time, Bogash received an email stating that Gregory had not received the original letter and that he would contact Bogash “within the next few days.”
Thank you for taking the time to read this letter.
My name is Michael Bogash, a part-time resident of June Lake. I do not speak for anybody but myself.
This is not another angry letter demanding that June Mountain be open this season. I have to accept and respect that the closure was purely a financial business decision.
This letter is to urge you to publicly announce that June Mountain would reopen for the 2013-2014 season, if that is truly your intention.
The citizens of June Lake are desperately planning and developing a marketing strategy for this winter, without the mountain, in order to survive through the year.
It would mean so much to the people of June Lake to hear that we have a next season (and beyond) to look forward to.
Along with June Lake’s marketing for this winter season, it would be of great significance if the news of the 2013-2014 ski season was part of that marketing message.
Thank you for considering an announcement that June Mountain would be open for the 2013-2014 season. I believe that just a little good news would benefit our community tremendously. I very much look forward to hearing from you.
