New diesel regulations could hurt local farmers, ranchers

New regulations forcing farmers and ranchers to cut back on their use of diesel fuel in their farm equipment could decimate the Eastern Sierra’s—and all of the state of California’s—agriculture industry within the next decade or two, according to Mono County Supervisor Hap Hazard. Hazard represents the Tri-Valley area, the heart of the county’s farms.
