Rick Wood wins age division at Houston Marathon

January 15, 2012

Mammoth attorney and Councilmember Rick Wood turned in a division-winning time of 3:09.35 at Sunday's 40th annual Chevron Houston Marathon.

Wood ran the course in 3:09.35 with a 7:13 per mile pace for the 60-64 age group.  Coach Andrew Kastor of the High Sierra Striders reports Rick was ecstatic at his time and, of course, taking first place in his division.

Wood finished ahead of second place by more than three minutes, finished first of 179 total athletes in the men’s 60-64 division, 371st of 4,800 overall for male marathoners (all ages) and was 417th of 7,570 overall male and female marathoners (all ages) with a 7:13 per mile pace for the 60-64 age group.
