School board elections, supervisor runoff race dominates local election scene

This Nov. 6, Mono County will hold three local elections—a runoff election for North County’s District 4 County Supervisor seat, and school board elections for both Mammoth Unified School District and for the Eastern Sierra Unified School District.

Here is a brief look at who is running in the local races.

Candidates Bob Peters and Tim Fesko will be facing off for the Mono County Board Of Supervisors District 4 runoff election.

Candidates Shana Stapp, John Stavlo, and Luis Villanueva are running for Mammoth Unified School District, where two seats are available.

The Eastern Sierra Unified School District has two seats available, one in Area 2 (Bridgeport) and one in area 3 (Lee Vining). Pamela Haas-Durhart and John Peters are running for Area 2 and Arya Degenhardt and James “Jimmy” Little are running for Area 3.

Dates to remember:
Sept. 27 to Oct. 16: State voter information guides will be mailed.
Oct. 2: Sample ballots mailed.
Oct. 8 to Oct. 30: Request period for vote-by-mail ballots.
Oct. 15: Contact Mono County Elections Office if you have not received your ballot.
Oct. 22: Deadline to register to vote.
