Tuolumne, Merced River plans ready for comment

Yosemite National Park announced the release of two Wild and Scenic River Management Plan Draft Environmental Impact Statements; one for the Merced River (MRP) and one for the Tuolumne River (TRP) for public review and comment.

The public comment period for the MRP is open now through Thursday, April 18. The public comment period for the TRP is open now through Monday, March 18.

Both documents are available for public review on the park’s website. The Merced River was designated Wild and Scenic by the U.S. Congress in 1987 to preserve its free-flowing condition and to protect and enhance the values that made it unique. The Tuolumne River was designated Wild and Scenic in 1984 due to its rich natural, cultural, and scenic values.
