Two heroin overdoses in Mammoth
On Friday, April 15, Mammoth Lakes Police Officers and Paramedics responded to a radio call in the Old Mammoth area and discovered a deceased 21-year-old woman. Evidence at the scene indicated that she had died of a heroin overdose. Agents from the Mono Narcotics Enforcement Team (MONET) followed up and identified the dealer who supplied the heroin to the victim. On Wednesday, April 20, Kyle Harmon-Townsend, a resident of Mammoth Lakes, was arrested and booked for numerous drug charges following a search warrant served at his residence where heroin and other drugs, cash, and drug paraphernalia were seized.
On Thursday, April 22 at approximately 10:30 p.m., MLPD Officers and Paramedics responded to the Mammoth Mountain Inn where a 22-year-old female from Southern California was found unconscious. She was revived by Paramedics and transported to Mammoth Hospital. The investigation revealed that she is a heroin user and had recently ingested heroin. The investigation has concluded that this overdose victim transported her drugs from Southern California and did not obtain them from the dealer who supplied the deceased woman. – MLPD
