Be Bear Aware
On Thursday, Nov. 20, 2008, an MLPD officer responded to a residence on Pinecrest after receiving a radio call of a black bear underneath a deck in the process of making a den. After deploying several bursts of pepper spray the bear immediately came out and left the area. Community members are once again reminded to secure all bear-proof dumpsters and not leave unattended food sources outside their residence which might attract bears.
