Mammoth Times Daily: Friday, March 12, 2010: Planning Commission sets Old Mammoth Place in motion
After nearly 10 hours of combined public hearing and commission deliberation that primarily focused on height,  grading, workforce housing  and water concerns, the Planning Commission voted 4-1 just before noon yesterday in favor of six required actions that will enact the Old Mammoth Place project, currently the Sierra Nevada Lodge and Rafters. It now goes to town council for review on April 7.

Old Mammoth Place has particular significance because if council approves the project, it will be the first out of the gate since the Community Benefits and Incentive Zoning (CBIZ) and People At One Time (PAOT) policies were adopted to implement the 2007 General Plan.

The proposed project includes up to 488 lodging rooms, 19,500 square feet of retail and 17,000 square feet of restaurant space, 9,5400 square feet of conference space, outdoor public events plazas, subterranean parking, and a spa and wellness center. – CB
