It’s not the same old Domino’s E-mail

Mark Kraniger has gone from delivering pizzas when he was in school to owning 10 Domino’s Pizza franchises in Southern California.
Now he’s got his tenth, having become the new owner of Mammoth’s Domino’s.
“The purchase of the store in Mammoth is a great opportunity for me. I have spent the last week re-training the entire team. My pizza makers have gone through a five-hour training program.”
It’s the dough, he explained. “Proper dough management is critical to a good pizza; that’s where the flavor comes in.”
His delivery drivers have also been re-trained. Kraniger personally went on deliveries with each driver so that they could see the key elements of service: professionalism, courtesy and friendliness.
“Our goal is to ‘wow’ the customer with exceptional customer service. I have challenged my entire team. Our goal is to deliver the best customer service of any quick service restaurant in town.”
Kraniger has worked with his general manager, Carlos Delgadillo, for 20 years. “He’s a very experienced manager and knows what it takes to manage a successful business.”
“Our product line has changed dramatically,” Kraniger said, touting the new line of American Legends pizza, the Breadbowl Pastas and Hot Oven-Baked Sandwiches.
“Our sandwiches beat Subway two to one in a  national taste test in January,” he said.
Online ordering is fun, Kraniger said. “Domino’s has the only pizza tracker in the QSR industry (QSR, or Quick Service Restaurant, is the preferred verbiage, over the term fast food.)”
He detailed the process of watching a pizza being built. “The tracker will tell you when it goes into the oven and comes out, when it goes out the door to the delivery vehicle and expected time to your door. You can also rate your driver online,” he said.
His goal is to deliver a hot, fresh meal. “I’ve challenged my team to have the best service from a QSR in town.”
“Domino’s is good when it’s done right, but it’s never been done right in Mammoth.” Until now, he said.
Domino’s Pizza has been in Mammoth for about 20 years, first in the Sierra Center Mall, then in the Blondie’s building on Main Street, and on Meridian next to Mammoth Business Essentials for the past seven years.
Kraniger was born in St. Paul, Minn. and has lived in Southern California for 25 years. He has been a second homeowner in Mammoth for the last 15 years. He and his wife Karen have four children.
Since his early days of delivering pizza, “I always wanted to own my own business. You have to love what you do,” Kraniger said.
