Even though Punxatawney Phil saw his shadow on Groundhog Day, signifying six more weeks of winter, these hopeful pansies at a Eastern Sierra business sure thought spring was closer... until this last storm left them covered in white stuff once again.

Summer Art Camps for Kids
Free day camp sessions for kids 6 and up to explore art and express their creativity through a variety of mediums. At the Mammoth Ski Museum. 6-7 year olds from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 8 and old from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Pre-register at (760) 934-6592 or (760) 937-2942.

Thursday July 23
Introduction to the Wildflowers of Valentine Reserve
This class will hike through five distinct plant communities; the dominant species found in each community will be described. Moderately strenuous with a 500 foot elevation gain. 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Meet at the Valentine Reserve entrance gate. $15 donation per person. Country Dance Lessons
Taught by Bob and Bonnie Lecorchick, who have over 30 years experience dancing, teaching, and winning competitions. At the June Lake Community Center from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. $10 per person, $15.00 per couple. All proceeds to benefit the June Lake Loop Women’s Club Scholarship Fund.
Movies under the Stars
