Catherine “Kay” Durox Catherine “Kay” Durox died in late August from complications after nearly a decade-long fight with Alzheimer’s. She was a resident of Mammoth Lakes for 30 years. As with most Mammoth locals, she worked multiple jobs, but the one she enjoyed the most was being the “gate keeper” for Reds Meadow, representing the Forest Service. She loved living in the mountains and took full advantage of the skiing, ice skating, camping, hiking and other outdoor activities to be enjoyed here. She represented Mono County on the Inland Counties Developmental Disabilities Board for many years and volunteered with Inyo County Hospice. She is survived by her daughters, Kathleen McLellan and Maureen Coldwell; one granddaughter, Grace Sauser; and twin great-granddaughters Jordyn and Paige Limpus.
