Geothermal Institute gains more steam

The Geothermal Institute of Research, Education & Outreach has reached agreement with Ormat/Mammoth Pacific on the terms of a sub-lease for approximately six and quarter acres of land next to the geothermal plant, according to Executive Director Tony Barrett.

“I’m very happy that I can announce that we do have a signed sublease and the Institute now has control of the five-plus acres of land next to the power plant, where we will be developing our Institute,” Barrett said today.

This furthers the Institute’s vision of building a foundation for the study of geothermal energy both locally and globally.
On Saturday, the Institute held  a workshop with its advisory council and local agencies at the Mammoth Mountain Inn on the progress of the Institute. – CB
