Change in venue for Sherwin-Scenic Loop Hazardous Fuels Reduction public meeting The Inyo National Forest, Mammoth Ranger District will hold a public meeting regarding the proposed Sherwin-Scenic Loop Hazardous Fuels Reduction project from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 10, 2009 at the Mammoth Lakes Community Center at 1000 Forest Trail Road. As a result of scheduling conflict, the meeting will not be at the Mammoth Ranger Station auditorium, as previously reported.
Bishop seniors offer gift wrapping service Seniors at the Bishop Senior Center will wrap holiday gifts from Dec. 10 to 24 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. daily, except Sundays. Proceeds will benefit senior programs.

Mammoth meets with Caltrans director Mammoth Mountain CEO Rusty Gregory, town councilmember Wendy Sugimura and town manager Rob Clark met with the Director of Caltrans, Randell Iwasaki, and Secretary of Business Transportation and Housing Dale Bonner on Monday to discuss preparations for winter storm season and furlough impacts. At that meeting, it was confirmed that Caltrans would not be subject to furloughs during the winter, contrary to information previously given to town council.
Air service to begin Horizon Air will commence daily flights from Los Angeles (LAX), Reno (RNO), San Jose SJC), Portland (PDX), and Seattle (SEA) to Mammoth Yosemite Airport (MMH) on Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009.
