First of all, we want to thank the Mammoth Times for your continued terrific coverage of Disabled Sports Eastern Sierra and in particular our Wounded Warrior events. The three-page color photo montages told a poignant story of how ready and eager these folks were to re-engage in life with their newly altered bodies. Next we have to take a moment to thank all the great people who helped make this happen. Greg Jennison and John Neubauer were extremely generous by donating McGee Creek Campground and full access to the loaded trout ponds. We also used and abused Greg’s new Rhino and everyone really had a blast 4 wheeling! Others who made the Wounded Warrior event “rock” are: Mammoth Mountain Ski Area, Sue and Stu and Caldera Kayaks, Sue Ebersold and Rebecca Deinken and the Breakfast Club, Tom Johnson and McGee Creek, Red’s Hot Dogs, Neil and Mark from Sierra Mountain Guides, Brent and the Mammoth Lakes Fire Department, Mammoth Disposal, Kelty, Silver Lake Resort, Pita Pit, Vons, Stellar Brew, Looney Bean, Starbucks, Mono County and Vikki Bauer (who came up with last minute funding for the ESTA bus) and Brian the bus driver, Suzanne Nottingham and LEKI poles, Bishop Nursery, Mammoth Brewing Company, Angels, the Knoches, Sages, Dallases, and Currys, and of course all of our fabulous staff and VOLUNTEERS!!! Smooches to you all, Kathy Copeland, Disabled Sports
