Local Scholarship Program Smashes All Records |

Forty three local students, a record number, are attending classes at the Mammoth Campus of Cerro Coso Community College on full Mammoth Lakes Foundation scholarships this Fall Semester. The Local Scholarship Program, started in 2003, is geared at Mammoth and Sierra High School graduates and Mono County residents to pursue higher education in Mammoth Lakes. All enrollment fees and books are paid for through the scholarship program. The following students received scholarships for the current fall semester: Yajaira Apodaca, Cassidy Arechiga, Peter Benchetler, Elizabeth Berkowicz, Jon Blackburn, Daniel Bonner, Joshua Bourelle, Jeremy Brooks, Maria Cecilia Brown, Riley Burch, Matthew Carothers, Kellen Carr, Dylan Clevenger, Alexia Coney, Misha Endo, Silvia Escobar, Patrick Ferguson, Martha Garcia, Kelly Gardner, James Greenleaf, Priscila Guerrero, Kori Hazard, Brad Jarvis, Elle Kaylor, Michael Kenney, Beatrice Martinez, Sergio Moreno, Peter Morning, Kelly Morning, Kasey Morning, Jennifer Moseley-Williams, Jose Navarro, Marvin Orrick, Kyle Pieper, Nicholas Rhoades, Yesenia Rios, Nick Schaller, Dave Schmidt, Beau Silva, Gloria Toledo, Alejandro Velasco, Heriberto Villalpando and Kyle Williams. The scholarships cover students’ fees and books for up to 60 units or two years of study. A GPA of 2.0 is required to apply for and continue the scholarship. Funding for the scholarships is provided through donations to the Mammoth Lakes Foundation from generous supporters.
