A native of New Bern, North Carolina, Hoff’s lilting southern accent still is unmistakable, even after many years of living in both Los Angeles and many more in Mammoth.
Working for Alpha Air in L.A., Hoff, 48, worked on flights to Mammoth back in the day, when 19-passenger Beechcraft aircraft were about the only passenger planes that could handle the high-altitude weather.
She moved to Mammoth as fast as she could.
“I stuck out like a sore thumb in L.A.,” she said.
The mother of a 14-year-old son, Blaise, and married to artist “Flyin’ Brian” Jones, Hoff worked in local media before starting her own company, Film Mammoth.
She brings her own vernacular to the campaign, describing Mammoth in an interview as “the desperate, sweaty girl in the corner just wanting someone to buy her a drink. We almost have that vibe of flop sweat and we need to get rid of that.”
She has not sought elective office until this year.
