Mammoth’s Youth Football team does not have uniforms, is short of funding, and has a host of other issues facing the players and coaches this year.

But so far, playing well is not one of them.

The Little Huskies whupped up on Trona, 31-13 last weekend, with two players, Ryder Radcliffe and Ricky Johnson, scoring two touchdowns apiece and with Danny Longino scoring one.

More than that, the team held Trona to just 13 points, which was enough to put wind in their sails for their next game at Big Bear next weekend.

Not at all completely sure how they pulled it off, the Huskies seem to have found a winning formula by having a pasta party the night before the game then celebrating their victory at Giovanni’s with pizza and cake.

They might continue to follow the formula, too, if the team can raise some funds.

The Mammoth Cheer Team raised about $400 on Sunday at Vons with a lemonade stand as well.
Curt Dessert is the head coach of the team this season with help from assistant coaches John Johnson, Angel Espitia, and Colby Coats.

The cheer team is led by Amber Dessert (head cheer coach), Amanda Baez (assistant cheer coach), and Donna Smalley (cheer director).

Interested players are encouraged to join the team. Visit www.mammothyouthfootball.org for more information.
