Youth Sports funding applications are now open: Deadline is March 23
Youth sportsters, line up for some cash.
The Town of Mammoth Lakes awards funds annually to youth sports organizations that are in need of additional funding to supplement organized, nonprofit, youth sports programs operating in and around Mammoth Lakes.
Applications opened yesterday (Thursday) and will be available on at the Town of Mammoth Lakes Recreation Department Office located in the Minaret Village Mall, above Giovanni’s, or online at www.ci.mammoth-lakes.ca.us.
To be considered for funding, an application must be completed and submitted to the Town of Mammoth Lakes Recreation Department office by 5 p.m. on Friday, March 23.
The Recreation Commission will review applications on April 3 and will provide funding recommendations to the Town Council.
Special attention will be given to organized sport programs and activities that:
• Are a nonprofit organization
• Involve a high number of local participants, including volunteers
• Are made available to the children in our local area
• Encourage participation by our diverse population
• Are in need of financial support due to limited funding
In addition to providing information on the Youth Sports Funding Application, representatives from each organization are highly encouraged to attend the Recreation Commission meeting on Tuesday, April 3, in Suite Z at 4 p.m. when the Recreation Commission will make its recommendations.
The Town Council will determine the final funding prioritization to each youth sporting organization on Wednesday, April 18.
