A free after-school program has been created for middle and high school youth called Clubhouse Live. The club was established to give kids a place to hang out, finish homework, socialize, and get involved in positive community activities.
The program will begin with a dance party Wednesday, Sept. 12 from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The Clubhouse is located at the Mono County Sierra Wellness Center, on the second floor, Suite 207, in the Sierra Center Mall in Mammoth Lakes. It is open for sixth to eighth graders on Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:45p.m. to 5p.m., and for ninth to twelfth graders on Thursdays and Fridays from 2:45 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The Clubhouse will open for regular hours on Monday, Sept. 17, and be staffed by Mono County Behavioral Health. Permission slips will be required for all youth to attend. Hours and activities will be further developed with kids and parents to suit the needs of local families.
The program is funded through California Proposition 63.
For more information or to sign a permission slip for attendance, call Annie Linaweaver MFT at Mono County Behavioral Health at 760-924-1740.
