The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has removed the winter snow, cleared the debris and made the necessary repairs to open State Route 108 over Sonora Pass on Friday, April 17, 2015, at 12:00 p.m.
Well above normal high temperatures are on tap through early next week.
There will be a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the Sierra over the weekend which will spread into northeast California and western Nevada by Tuesday.
