Never too many tamales at Mammoth Elementary

After reading the book, Too Many Tamales, the third grade students in Mammoth Elementary School’s Dual Immersion classes had their annual Tamale Fest on Dec. 9.

Fifty-eight hardworking chefs almost doubled last year’s number by making a whopping 392 chicken, pork and chile-cheese tamales!

As usual, none of this would have been possible without the support of our dedicated parents.

Thanks to the following mothers who organized, shopped, cooked and steamed the tamales: Lorena Weber, Alma Villalobos, Leticia Contreras, Rosa Delgado, Araceli Reyes, Lorenza Walker, Lauren Albrecht, and Blanca Solorio.

Joining the celebration to help the kids were also Nancy Lopez, Kenia Lopez, Clara German, Yolanda Hernandez, Chris and Lara Walker, Kim McCarthy, Lorena Bailey, Lisa Mueller, Connie Moyer, Patricia Rios and Nick Stavros.

Thank you, moms and dads, for making this holiday tradition a mammoth success!
