Town Council, School Board, state and federal candidates will get their day on the stand
Mammoth Voices and the Mammoth Lakes Chamber of Commerce are both holding candidate forums during the next few weeks as election season heats up in advance of the mid term General Election on Nov. 8.
Mammoth Voices is a non-partisan civic education and civic engagement advocacy group that was formed several years ago and focuses on encouraging locals to run for office, providing leadership training and, on providing forums that make information about candidates accessible.
To that end, the group, which meets regularly on Thursdays, will be holding an ongoing series of Candidate Forums (some have already occurred) which will continue until the mid-term General Election on Nov. 8. The forums will be mostly via Zoom, although one will be in person as well as via Zoom. A session recording will be available afterward for any one who wishes to listen, according to Mammoth Voices representatives.
Additional candidates could possibly be added to the below forums as well, they said.
The Mammoth Lakes Chamber of Commerce will also be hosting a Candidate Forum; this will be for the Town Council candidates on Oct. 4. All six candidates, who are vying for three open seats, will attend, they said. "As usual, we'll be asking prepared questions, and opening it up for your questions."
The forum will be held in a Power Lunch format. Go to https://www.mammothlakeschamber.org/events/details/power-lunch-town-council-candidates-forum-2007. The forum will be at 12 - 2 p.m. at The Village Lodge in the Emerald Room. Te cost is $25 for Chamber members; $30 for non-members.
