campfire photo

Campfires in non-campground areas, like this campfire in this dispersed camping site in the Buttermilks climbing area in a photo taken earlier this year, will no longer be allowed on the Inyo National Forest and the Bishop area of the Bureau of Land Management in the Eastern Sierra starting Monday, June 6.

No campfires, chainsaws, target shooting etc., due to extreme fire danger

Campfires outside of developed campsite rings and campgrounds, smoking, chainsaw use and other fire restrictions went into effect today, June 6 due to extreme fire danger, one of the earliest such set of restrictions in history.
